Ok got a couple questions
1. What is the best way to start (saving the most time for the whole race)?
2. If I do have echo+SRB, should i even go in the big lake or go around?
3. Am i the only one never getting the box before the spiral hill?

As u can see on the picture... nobodys gonna take the box before the spiral bridge... and u always have to go through the water with the combo. There are 3 ways to start which were already explained here. Each start has his pros and contras, decide which one u prefer.

If you:
1) Do one of the advertised starts
2) Get the combo
3) Follow the instructions on the map after that
4) Don't get knocked down or rubberband backwards
then you should make top 100.
Namkey's map is sub-optimal. You need a very clean run to make top 100 with that map. There's a reason that namkey got booted out of the top 100 during the first beetle weekend after he posted that map - the absolute top end score using power-ups exactly as described is very near 476,000. Alternate starts can improve on that by a couple of seconds. The rest of the additional time you can find is later in the course.
If you want to beat Yuri, you'll have to experiment with where you trigger power-ups in order to save time.
Yuri - did that last bit I told you get you the 484, or did you find the extra second with the method you described?

Lol! Sry, Martin, I have to disappoint u!
I was testing ur method and its like i told u..its a wasting of ram, just use dash immediatly after cp2.
It was a "late-ram" run ... but ... ._. i ruined it... told ya i have to practise.
Ram was too early .... so i did only get like 55% speed these 2 secs.
Made 2 mistakes at all.
But it was a improved (u have to change ur playstyle if u get superstart) "red-superstart".
Well, there's still room for improvement... gogo 485

Actually I alternate between ram at gate and dash before turn and between saving my ram for after the turn. If I start at the left side I usually prefer to ram out of the gate because I rarely seem to get a clean start if I save my ram there. Saving it can be faster though if everything goes well. I have seen 16 seconds at cp1, 29 at cp2 and 36 at water during one of my races (no superstart and no echo-srb that time though ). During my 482.5k time I started left so I rammed out of the gate, and I didn't even get echo-srb out of the first two boxes so actually didn't expect a great time. But ironically the left cow box gave me the lucky 2nd srb I needed for a nice time. All in all not a perfect race, I could see at least 2 seconds of improvement there.

lag got me...then I got stuck in the final stairs...was in 2nd...couldnt even finish....couldnt get out of the stair!
(oh yeah and rubberbanding is much more fun.....one time I was going the wrong way on the track when I popped back ....think my rollerbeetle career is over).

I'm always a fan of Rollerbeetle Racing, and usually get first or second in a race, but the lag and rubberbanding this year is so ridiculous I can't even complete a match.
aNet really needs to do something about this issue.
(No it's not my computer or internet connection because GW is the only game I ever get lag in)

Hardly disappointed, just curious as noted. You had a theory, I had an alternate theory, and I haven't been around to test yours, so I have to rely on your experiences.
As noted, I haven't had much luck pulling the super start. The red beetle is innately faster simply due to racing lines and slope of the first hill; the relative ease of the super start from that box makes things sort of silly.

This refers to:
Ram prior to gate 7 to get up the hill quickly
Dash at gate 7
Ram the last two seconds
Yuri is correct that this fails. There's a better way; if everything is done properly you'll never dip below 80-90% after the long water stretch, and that only happens for a second or two.
Another tip: it is VERY commonly the case that changing only one thing about your run will not improve your times. Often times you have to make more than one change, or reason back all the way to the point when an SRB is used, in order to optimize the run.
I detest the degradation in server quality as everyone and his aunt begins to log into Nine Rings over the weekend. I hate Nine Rings for that reason, and I just don't see why people have always been willing to pay money to make a skilless pink bar go up. Much less why they would choose to spend events making a skilless bar go up when they could make a skilled bar go up instead. (This was the case even before they added lockpicks.)
But to each his own, I suppose...
"Bridge Ate My Score" is such a great name, by the way. So many times when pinging 250+... /rage

Ive been consistently following the steps on the map and the best time I have reached even with srb is 462, what could i be doing wrong? My ping is fine and no rubber banding.

I have been racing at the Canthan New Year event, and also this one, but I'm about to give up ever making it to the list.
I just raced for 7 straight hours, and I got 1 superbeetle powerup, no echo, during the entire time... I slow down way too much on bridges, especially on the loopy one. I cannot make a higher score than 450k, even with following the guidelines.
What can I do?
I don't want to make the list for bragging rights, only to get the special something they give you at the end if you make it

They only give you the special gift at the Canthan New Year festival. Shame they don't give it at the Dragon Festival also.

As I said before in this thread, I never dip below 80-90% either using the above method so I don't think it fails.
